Been Too Busy For Me

All of us have long “to do” lists, daily demands, and busy agendas. Have you ever noticed that YOU are the last priority on your agenda?

Finally, I can now say I am free to put myself on my own agenda (read my latest blog on Self Care called “Vacation or Just Sick Time?” to get the full story). And it was the best thing that could have happened to me. It was life changing when I actually stopped to ask myself, “Why am I neglecting me again?”

So, why do you neglect YOU? Simply put, it boils down to being free to make new choices that create permanent change. But what hinders your freedom to consistently make new choices, like taking care of YOU so that you can take care of everything else on your agenda more effectively?

The answer is this. Your limiting beliefs are not being addressed. You cannot truly make a new choice (permanently) if you have limiting beliefs that are not aligned with that new choice.

So, if I can identify my limiting beliefs, then I can make new choices that bring about permanent change? Not quite. Awareness alone does not bring about new actions that result in change. So what does? What is the missing piece?

There is a source to all of your limiting beliefs…and it isn’t what you might think. This source is the fuel that keeps your limiting beliefs alive and well. So, discover the source, cut off the fuel and the limiting beliefs fade away. New beliefs lead to new action choices and change takes place, permanently!

Recently, I discovered the source of the choices that led me to neglecting my own self-care. Now I am free to make new choices and see permanent change in this part of my life!

I cannot wait to share this journey with you because I suspect you (or someone you know) might be neglecting to put yourself on your own agenda, too. My next blog will explain how this discovery occurred and then I will be blogging frequently on the transformation that has been taking place since my discovery.

I am willing to be vulnerable and transparent with you and there are a few things I ask of you, especially if you can relate:

1.      Let me know that you have in fact neglected yourself…ownership is one of the first steps to discovery.

2.      Follow me on my blog as I share my journey of new choices that led to new changes.

3.      If what I share makes a difference for you, please reply directly to the blog!

I will tag all the blogs relative to this transformation with the keywords: self-care. For this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my family, this discovery and that I AM healthy!

I do neglect me. I take care of everything else first and do suffer upon not being able to take care of everything else or is it that I might experience something if I do take care of me?

Sonya, I know that the discovery process for change is a journey. I have come to find that in the process as things are discovered one insight leads to the next. Then finally, there is one day when something discovered becomes the piece that I call “reaching readiness.” It’s like when the last piece of a puzzle finally comes together. We are making progress in the journey as each piece is discovered. When we reach that last puzzle piece the entire picture comes together and you reach a place of clarity.. This clarity, I believe sets us on the path of the permanent change. Self care is critical, not selfish. I am excited to share my unfolding discovery process with you and others who choose to follow me. I leave you with this comment … you can have self care…so let’s discover why you have not been choosing it!
